Oliver Wilson Selected for Ryder Cup Team

Oliver Wilson has booked the final automatic slot on the European Ryder Cup team, fighting off the challenge of Nick Dougherty in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, to clinch his place in the final ranking event. The 27 year old Englishman will now make his debut in golf’s most prestigious event at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky on September 19th

Making the Ryder Cup team caps a terrific season for Oliver, who has had four second-place finishes, including the BMW PGA tournament at Wentworth, where he narrowly lost out to Miguel Angel Jiminez in a play-off. – 31 August 2008
