McNish Wins at Silverstone

Allan McNish steered his Audi sportscar to a comfortable, unchallenged second consecutive Le Mans Endurance Series victory in the penultimate round of the championship at Silverstone yesterday.
The 34-year-old Dumfries-born ace now lies joint first – with co-driver Pierre Kaffer - in the LM P1 category Drivers’ championship standings having claimed a win and second place in the previous two races staged in Italy and Germany.
Nürburgring race winners’ McNish/Kaffer crossed the line over one lap ahead of the Japan Audi after a completely trouble-free race.
Allan commented:  “Pierre completed an excellent double stint and handed me a car that was perfectly in the groove." -15 August 2004
